School Description:

Greater Memphis Chinese School (GMCS) provides more than 50 classes in Chinese, Art, Dance, English Writing, Math, Computer, SAT, Wu Shu, etc on Sundays. We are seeking energetic, enthusiastic, creative individuals who will love to teach and communicate well with parents, admin staff and teachers in the school. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide an educational foundation that allows each student to reach his or her individual potential.

As a teacher you would be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. You are challenged with new teaching methods and educational tools in an ever changing and strategic environment. Chinese teacher applicants must be fluent (native or near native proficiency) in Mandarin Chinese.

Teachers are responsible for managing student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution, and highly qualified content knowledge. Advanced degree in education and previous teaching experience is a plus. Ability to work on weekend hours.
